On June 17th, member of the CAS leadership group, Secretary-General Maicun Deng surveyed the Chengdu biology institute, Chengdu mountain institute, Chengdu branch, and photoelectricity institute in the company of the Secretary of Chengdu branch, Executive Vice-President Xueding Wang.
During the survey of biology institute, secretary of the party committee，deputy director Yan Ye, and Guoling Zhang respectively introduced the implementation plans for “135”, the achievement transition and transfer, and the situation of enterprise equity. Mr. Deng expressed his three wishes for Chengdu branch, the first is to strengthen the disciplines construction and follow the goal; the second is to take advantages of the district characteristics and pursue distinctive development; the third is to organize professional staffs to negotiate with enterprises about the issue of result transition and transfer, and ensure that patents are well protected in the start of research so that scientists can concentrate on the research.
During the survey in the mountain, secretary of the party committee Xiaogang Guan and vice president Anbang Wen highlighted the representative research achievement of the institute, the recent situation of the cooperation between the branch and local, and thoughts about the results transfer and transition. Participating researchers reported their progress and the difficulties met during the transfer. Mr. Deng expressed his four hopes: the first is to increase the propaganda on the importance of mountain science; the second is to enhance the collaboration between the branch with external institutes to promote the research on mountain disasters; the third is to improve the plan and organization for the important achievement transform projects according to the demands of China; and the last is to explore more possible modes for public welfare research institutes to transfer their achievement.
In the survey of Chengdu branch library, curator Shu Fang introduced the positioning of the library, the user groups and other basic information. Mr. Deng suggested to take advantages of the library on information to strengthen the study on the trend of industry, and to assist the researchers on the industrial chain analysis.
During the investigation, Mr. Deng also visited the biofuel group and the microorganism and pollution organisms control group in the biology institute, the dynamic debris flow simulation hall in the mountain institute, the science museum, the computer facilities and exhibition room, and the major project groups in the photoelectricity institute, and the KeAoDa Company.
Related staffs in the general office and sci-tech cooperation office accompanied Mr. Deng in the survey and investigation.
