Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences Participated in the Launch Ceremony of “Technology Dream China Dream—the Theme Exhibition of Modern Chinese Scientists”

On September 5, the Launch Ceremony of Chengdu Itinerant Exhibition of “Technology Dream ? China Dream—the Theme Exhibition of Modern Chinese Scientists” cosponsored by China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Chinese People's Liberation Army General Political Department, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. was held in Sichuan Science and Technology Museum. Wang Jiatu, Vice-president of Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences, participated in the Launch Ceremony and viewed the exhibition. 

“Technology Dream ? China Dream—the Theme Exhibition of Modern Chinese Scientists” is the first large exhibition centering on scientists in the history of the People’s Republic of China. According to Chinese social development process in the 20th century, this exhibition covered seven parts, including “Sowing Seeds of Modern Science”, “Making Modern Science Root in China”, “Scientific and Educational Life in the Turbulent Years”, “New China · New Science”, “In the Spring of Science”, “Stepping into a New Century” and “Closings”. They briefly introduced the tortuous history of formation and evolution of Chinese professional scientist groups and described the great efforts and outstanding contributions that they have made to the renaissance of China, through adopting personalized themes and visual historical data and organically combining micro-history of individual growth and macro-history of national development. The exhibition contents concerned nearly 700 modern and contemporary Chinese scientists, and used nearly one thousand historical pictures and more than one hundred important material objects. Therefore, it provided not only a feast of scientific spirit for the majority of scientific and technological workers, but also a vivid class for the public especially postgraduates to know, understand and get close to scientists.
