On October 17, Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “Chengdu Branch”) organized more than 30 leaders from its affiliated units in Chengdu and Chongqing to investigate Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and have an informal discussion. The leaders attending the discussion include Zhang Yudong—President of Chengdu Branch, Wang Xueding—Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice-president of Chengdu Branch, Chen Feng and Wang Jiatu—Vice-presidents of Chengdu Branch, Liu Chao—Member of Standing Committee of Chengdu Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Party Working Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Han Chunlin—Assistant Mayor of Chengdu and Director of Management Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Yuan Zongyong—Deputy Director of Management Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. In the morning, the leaders investigated the enterprises. At BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd., they listened to the brief presentation made by the company leaders on BOE panel display technology innovation system. When they were investigating Chengdu Research Institute of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Chen Jie—Deputy Director of the Institute described the development history of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. In the afternoon, they investigated Singapore-Sichuan High-tech Innovation Park and learnt in detail about the basic information, vision, location and construction plan of the project and consulted about issues of common concern including industry orientation and road network traffic. At Western Information Center of China Telecom, the leaders inquired information about advanced technological areas of cloud computing, big data and other information technologies. At Tianfu Life Science Park, they visited Chengdu HitGen Ltd.
Later, the leaders from Chengdu Branch and main leaders of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone had a discussion at Management Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Zhang Yudong was very grateful to the leaders of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone for their attention and arrangements. He said that this visit was a rare learning opportunity for leaders from affiliated units of Chengdu Branch.
Liu Chao put forward the following key tasks for the next step: firstly, the two sides should have closer communication with each other in respect of matters concerning the new park construction; secondly, they want to attract branches (other than those in Sichuan) of Chinese Academy of Sciences to develop themselves through Chengdu Branch platform; thirdly, they hope that research institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences cooperate closely with enterprises and industries in Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone all the more. At last, Liu Chao expressed that they will certainly do their best to support the development of Chengdu Branch in Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone according to the laws, regulations and policies.
