30th Joint Conference of Party and Government Leaders of Chengdu Branch Held

On February 9, Chengdu Branch convened the 30^th joint conference of party and government leaders of the Branch. Zhang Jingzhong, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lin Xiangdi, academician of China Engineering Academy, were specially invited to attend the meeting. Present at the meeting were Zhang Yudong, President of Chengdu Branch, Wang Xueding, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Executive Vice President, Chen Feng, Vice President, and Wang Jiatu, Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee.

At the conference, Wang Xueding, on behalf of leaders of Chengdu Branch, delivered a report on the major achievements in party construction, group construction, academy-local government cooperation and talent cultivation in 2014, as well as work plan and measures for 2015. Chen Feng reported the progress of construction of the new park and the new building for talents and experts.

Persons in charge of Chengdu and Chongqing units affiliated with Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced their “Taking the Lead to Act” plan and “One, Three and Five” plan implemented, progress in major projects, scientific research achievements and industrialization, talents introduction, platform construction, international cooperation, and business sales in 2014. They analyzed their problems and weakness, gave their opinions on the reform of the research institute and the 13^th Five-year Plan, and introduced their key work in 2015.

The academicians spoke highly of the achievements of all units, hoping they would determine their right position, direction and development goals based on the current situation and needs of the country and market, and adapt to the macro situation in which in-depth reform is pushed forward in all aspects.

Zhang Yudong showed his hope that each unit would have crisis awareness. They would not be satisfied with the status quo, but, considering its own advantages, further define the positioning, condense the development goal, support industrial development with core technologies, and gain a firm position in the industry, to boost the regional economic and social development.

Leaders from Chengdu and Chongqing units and persons in charge of various offices of Chengdu Branch, totaling more than 40, attended the conference. It was chaired by Zhang Yudong.
