On may 21st, Dr.Jelena Stajic, senior editor of Science magazine, visited the CAS Chengdu education center. She had a lecture for graduate students, named “Publishing in Science: an editor’s perspective”.

Dr. Jelena Stajic introduced the history of Science magazine and the AAAS、research papers submitted to science and explained the functions of an editor. Then she details the review process of Science magazine、what kind of papers they are looking for and the elements of a good submission.
In the Q&A session, Dr.Jelena Stajic explained the main reasons for a paper to be rejected and the main principles of editing a paper. After the lecture, students indicated that they had learned a lot from the lecture, especially in the area of publishing research papers .
