BAI Chunli, President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is elected Foreign Honorary Member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AMACAD), announced AMACAD on April 20, 2016.
AMACAD adopts 213 new members this year. 37 from 17 countries such as China, Russia, South Africa and Israel are included, adding the number of Foreign Honorary Members to 623 by far.
Prof. BAI Chunli, also President of the Presidium of the Academic Divisions of CAS, is a world-known chemist and leading scientist in nanoscience. He is also President of the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS). BAI was elected foreign members of the National Academy of Sciences in 2006 and of the Royal Society in 2014.
